Only little wine is made in this rather unknown district.
This smallest frankish district is in the western part of Franken. The vinyards are sparsely spread out between Aschaffenburg and Kreuzertheim. The erosion-soils are made of sandstone, and allow red as well as white vines to grow. Müller-Thurgau, Silvan, and Spätburgunder are used, and are usually dry or semi-dry.
