The Müller-Thurgau dominates in this rather unknown area.
This region takes up about 16% of Baden, and lies north and south of Heidelberg and is the extension for the Hessian Mountain Road. Around the most popular wine communities Sulzfeld and Michelfeld elegant and medium-full wines thrive on primitive rock blended with loess and red marl.
The main vine of this region is Müller-Thurgau, followed by the White Burgundy, Ruländer. Riesling is only rarely raised here.
