Though the quality of the neighboring wines isn't quite reached, one can find good, mostly dry, wines, that go well with meals. Müller-Thurgau, Ruländer, and Spätburgunder thrive on sandy clay, loess, and erosion soils around Offenburg and Freiburg. Weißherbst and Badisch Rotgold are made here in noteworthy amounts.
