The South Coast Zone is a long and narrow strip of land commencing on the central coast of New South Wales and proceeding south along the coastline to the Victorian border.
The Zone includes the Sydney Metropolitan area, the old wine area of Camden, the Southern Highlands, the Shoalhaven Valley and the Bega Valley. No wine regions have yet been formed within its boundaries, but there are several small vineyard areas.
Due principally drier climates and less humidity, the southern parts seem more favoured for viticulture.
