The Western Plains Zone is an extensive area of western and north-western New South Wales.

The three winezones Western Plains, Big Rivers and Central Ranges meet each other in the Forbes area. The Lachlan River west of Forbe forms the boundary between Big Rivers and Western Plains, while the Newell Highway and the Parkes-Cootamundra Railway Line the border between the Central Ranges and the other two. There are no wine regions within the Western Plains Zone.
