The largest part of Queensland's growing-area in in the Granite Belt area, close to the border to New South Wales. Queensland carries the nickname 'Sunshine State', the vineyards are at a certain height and so in cooler regions. The only wine company of the Northern Territory is Château Hornsby in Alice Springs. The vines grow in incredible hear and have to be extensively irrigated. In spite of the awful condititions passable wines are produced here.
