King Valley and High Country are the new face of Victoria's viniculture. Emphasis is put on table- and sparkling wines.

The climate is a bit cooler than that of Rutherglen. Especially wines from Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer as well as dry Muscats and Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have impressive quality. The majority of grapes is used to blend in other regions, but it would certainly be worth keeping an eye on this region.
