Wineries in Badacsony

The most popular wine-region Badacsony mostly produces white wines. The vines cultivated are the Welsh Riesling, Riesling Sylvan, and Kéknyelú. The wines have full body, high alcohol content and strong acidity.
Badacsony is a famous wine region which combines the beautiful scenery with the wines' high quality.

The basaltic soils and submediterranean micro-climate are responsible for the excellent wines. Also the fact that the southern slopes are protected from the cold north wind, while the Balaton Lake stores and then gives off warmth, are all responsible for the wine's high quality.

The region mostly produces white wines that have full body, high alcohol content and strong acidity. Badacsony uses the following vines: Welsh Riesling, Riesling Sylvan, and Kéknyelú (a specialty), as well as Pinot Gris, Ottonel Muscat and Traminer.

Badacsony is a good tip for tourists. The old villages with traditional cellars are ideal for wine-tasting tours.
