Wineries in Villány-Siklós

Villány-Siklós is most likely Hungary's most important red wine region. The good climate and soil conditions guarantee quality wines in combination with excellent processing techniques. There are also many sights for tourists to see.
The wine region Villány-Siklós is on the slopes of the Villány Mountains.

Hungary's best red wines are made here. The reason for this is the excellent quality and the optimal geological conditions.

The white wine production is stronger around the town of Siklós and the important vines are Welsh Riesling, Traminer, and Hárslevelú, as well as Chardonnay.

The important vines among the red wines are: Kadarka, Blue Portuguese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Blaufränkisch, and Zweigelt.

The wines from Villány-Siklós are marked by their full body, alcohol content, hard tannins, and an intense bouquet.

This region offers many sights for the wine tourist, but it is also a dream as far as the landscape is concerned.

The vintages 1997, which made excellent wines, and 1999, a once a century wine, must be mentioned.
