The wines here grow here at a height of up to 33m above sea-level. The Route Nationale 470 splits the area in the middle. The wines from the north side have the best conditions and a good potential for aggeing. There are no Grands Crus, but there are 32 Premiers Crus, among them the Les Boucherottes, Les Cent Vignes, Les Epenottes, Les Féves, Les Gréves, Le Clos de Mouches, Les Marconnets, Clos de la Mousse, Clos du Roi, Les Sisies, Les Teirons, Les Toussaints, Les Vignes-Franches, and Montée-Rouge.
The wines´ bouquet reminds of black cherries and strawberries. The wines are drunk young, but can, in certain exceptions be stored for up to 20 years. The best white wines are always dry, and have a buttery note that hints of nuts, that is similar to that of the wines from Meursault.
