In the early Middle Ages wines of high quantity, but no so good quality were made here. The fruity red wines made here today have better quality.
The main reasons for the rise in quality was e.g. the founding of the union Hautes Côtes. Hautes-Côtes de Beaune is made up of three growing-region.
The fruitiest red wines can be drunk young, though they have great potential for storage. The palette of offered wines os rich, and includes rosé wine, Bourgogne Passe-tout-grains, Crémant de Bourgogne and rare, dry, and fresh white wines.
Among the vines cultivated and pressed are the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gamay, Aligoté, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc.
