| This fertile region northeast of Lisbon has six IPR-classified regions: Almeirim, Cartaxo, Chamusca, Coruche, Santarém, and Tomar. The red wines have good fruit and are a little bitter in early years. Their character becomes spicier after a few years storage. The quality of this dry white wine isn't very good. The vines grown here are Camarate, Castelao, Mortágua, Periquita, Tinta Miuda, Tricadeira, Boais, Fernao Pires, Jampal, and Terrantez. |
