Lots of sun and a breeze in the Spring and autumn make for good conditions for Chasselas, Pinot Noir, and Gamay.
The vineyards are southeast of the Geneva Lake, and are the property of many old noble families. This is the sunniest canton Switzerland's. The breeze in Spring and autumn make for good condition for the vines.
The vineyards of Aigle bring forth elegant wines of Chasselas and Pinot Noir from their soils of gravel, mud, limestone, and magnesium. The plaster-filled soil around Bex is suitable for Pinot Noir, Gamay, and Chasselas.

Spice Traminer, Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Sylvan, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Chardonnay, and Aligoté are grown in smaller amounts.

The Chablais includes for origin-names: Villeneuve, Yvorne, Aigle, Bex, and Ollon.
