The good microclimate mostly fins Chasselas on the terraced vineyards. But there are optimal conditions for other vines as well.
Lauvaux' terraced vineyards stretch from Lausanne to Villeneuve, There are supported by walls, that are good for the microclimate and reach to the banks of the Geneva Lake. The soil is clay-filled marl, and molasses filled with rock.
Chasselas is the main vine here. Next to Pinot Noir and Gamay specialties such as Spicy Traminer, Sylvan, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau, and Chardonnay are grown.
