Kunság is Hungary's largest wine region, and is known for its wide variety of vines. The white wines have high alcohol content and are somewhat flat, the red wines are usually of a fairly straight acidity.
Kunság is Hungary's largest wine region. The climate is hot and sunny during the summer, and the winters are cold and dry. Wine production has only been here since the beginning of the 20th century because of the phylloxera vastatix, but there are some older vineyards that were spared because of the dry sandy soil.

The white wines are very alcoholic, flat, and often with rest sugar because of the geological conditions. The red wines aren't too complex and show a straight acidity.

The most important town are Kecskemét, Hosszúhegy, Izsák, Szikra, and Kiskörös.

Kunság is a region with a wide assortment of vines. The Welsh Riesling, Ezerjó, Green Veltliner, Muscat-Ottonel for the whites, and for the reds Kadarka, Blue Portuguese, Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Franc. The production of table wines are an important part of the region's local production.

With the National Park Bugac and the centers Kecskemét and Kiskúnfélegyháza Kunság offer plenty to the wine tourist.
