This AOC enjoys a great reputation. The price-performance ration is good. Great strong wines with concentration, aroma and balance are produced.

Bonnezeaux is a true "Grand Cru" of the Loire Valley. The great wines from Layon are usually from Bonnezeaux or Quarts de Chaume. In some vintages there is noble-sugar, but it´s not typical. The appellation has three large hills in the south. The ground of gravel-slate offers good geological conditions for the wines. Only Chenin Blanc is cultivated.
