This old wine is from a small area near Assisi, It is made form the native vine and makes a fruity red wine with a special bouquet.
1993 the Variante Sagrantino di Montefalco got its DOCG-status. Sangiovese makes up the largest part among the graoes used. 5-10% Sarantino is added as well.
The Passito-variation is made from dried grapes, and s strong and sweet.
