A light dry red wine as well as a dry to sweet white wine come from the area around the Gulf of Euremia on the West Coast.
The red wine should be drunk early and cooled. The vines grow in parts of ten communities around Lamezia Terme. The minimum alcohol content is 12% for all wines but the rosé wine, which only has to have 11,5%.
For the red and rosé wines the Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappucio (pure or blended), Gaglioppo (called Magliocco locally), Greco nero and up to 35% other vines. White wines are made from Greco, Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia, and 15% other vinest.
