An area very well suited for red and white wines.

Valdeorras (DO) in the southeast of Orenses (in the center) contains three sub-areas: Larouco, El Barco de Valdeorras, and Rú-Petín. There are red as well as white wines here. The white wines are from the Xerez vines and are dry and clean while the red wines are from the Garnacha de Alicante vine and have a cherry color and comfortable aroma. There are also other wines from the Mencía vine and the white Godello vine. The good Godellos belong to Spain's best white wines.
