Ribeiro (DO) in Orense's northeast is very famous for its wines.The region is split into three sub-areas: Ribeiro de Avia, the region with the longest wine tradition, has excellent white wines from the Gomaritz vine, and red wines from Costeira, Beada, and Regada vines; Ribeiro del Miño with white and red wines, and Ribeiro de Arnoia with light and scented wines.
The most typical types are the white Godeo, Macabeo, Torrontés, Albilla, Treixadura, and Loureiro and the red Sonsón for good red wines with rich bouquets. |
