Monterrei (DO), is Orense's South, on the border to Portugal, is split into the following sub-regions: Monterrei, Verín, Oímbra, and Castello. Red wines from Alicante Negro, Garnacha, Tinto fino, Tinto de Toro, Tintorera, and Monstelo dominate. The red wines from Monterrei are very strong and have a high alcohol content.
THe white wines are from Xerez, Godello und Doña Blanca vines. |
