This is the home of the famous Don Quijote.
La Mancha (DO) almost stretches over the entire "Meseta" with the provinces Ciudad Real, ein Teil von Albacete, Cuenca, and Toledo, and borders on Andalucía to the South. The winters here are bitter cold, and the summers are very hot. La Mancha has about 157.600 ha growing area that is controlled by the guilds.

The mos typical vines is the white Airén. The wines from this regions are light yellow, almost free of acidity, with a pleasant scent, and little fruit. Since the wines are fairly neutral they are foten used to cut wines or destillation wines from other regions.
