Neuquén and Rio Negro are among Argentina's coolest wine regions. They are better known for their apples.
The long ripening period, as well as the limestone soils, and little rain offer excellent potential for exceptional white wines from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. That both areas remain relatively unknown is due to missing investors. However, the chances are good that Neuquén and Rio Negro will grow to be Argentina's ;eading winegrowing regions within the next decades.
