The offer and quality are varied in this large district. bulk wines used to be made here in large houses. Today the Chardonnay is quite good.
The landscape is fairly flat. During ripening the grapes get a lot of sun. The autumn rains sometimes force an early harvest, which doesn't benefit the wines.
The Chardonnay is processed in various styles. The palate reaches from simple and fruity to complex version with a barrel-character. The cool climate also offers good conditions for the Gewürztraminer.
