Wines that are produced in a permitted region of the Gironde, and are made according to instructions can carry the AOC-Bordeaux.
There are three reasons, why a wine can carry this name:
1. The wine comes from a permitted region of the Bordeaux, but outside of the original region
2. The wine comes from an area with a source name, but prefers the AOC Bordeaux name.
3. The wine is from a known community with source name but does not fulfill the requirements to carry it.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot und Malbec are the red wines that are grown. Of the whites, we can find Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle.
